Leapmotor EV Charging Cables
Every Leapmotor sold in Britain plugs in, including the ones badged Hybrid EV, and every one uses a Type 2 inlet. So a Type 2 to Type 2 cable fits the whole range: T03, C10, B10, B05 and both range extenders.
That first point catches people out. A Leapmotor Hybrid EV is a range extender, not a conventional hybrid. The petrol engine drives a generator and never turns the wheels, so the car runs on electricity all the time and the battery is meant to be filled from the mains. If you have a C10 Hybrid EV or B10 Hybrid EV and you are not plugging it in, you are using petrol to generate the electricity, which is the most expensive way to run one.
All cables come with a two-year manufacturer's warranty, free next working day UK delivery and our price match promise.
Read MoreWe would rather say this before selling you anything. Leapmotor UK lists "Type-2 AC and domestic 3-pin charging cables" as standard equipment on the B10, the B10 Hybrid EV and the B05. If you have one of those three, you may already have what you need.
The reasons owners still buy from us are length and rating. Leapmotor does not publish the length or amperage of the supplied cable anywhere we could find, and factory cables are typically around 5m and often 16A rather than 32A. If the bundled lead will not reach your wallbox, or it is holding the car to 3.7 kW, a 32A cable in the right length is a genuine upgrade. If it reaches and it is 32A, you do not need us.
The range splits into two groups, and it is simpler than most brands.
11 kW cars: the B10 and B05, both on the 67.1 kWh battery. Eleven kilowatts is a three-phase rating and British houses are single-phase, so at home they draw 7.4 kW from our 32A single-phase Type 2 to Type 2 cable. On a three-phase public post they will use the full 11 kW, which is the only situation where the 3-phase 32A cable earns its price.
6.6 kW cars: the T03, the C10, and both Hybrid EV range extenders. These cap at 6.6 kW, which a 32A cable covers in full with headroom to spare. A 16A cable, at 3.7 kW, would hold all four below what they can accept. A three-phase cable does nothing for any of them.
On the C10 specifically, you will find sources quoting 11 kW. We have gone with 6.6 kW because that is what Leapmotor's own UK press material states and what every UK reviewer who actually charged the car measured. Leapmotor did upgrade the C10 from 6.6 kW to 11 kW for the 2025 model year in Malaysia, but we found nothing confirming that reached British cars. Either way the recommendation is the same 32A single-phase cable, so the disagreement does not change your purchase.
Our Type 2 to 3-Pin Charging Cable works from any household 13A socket at 2.3 kW. That is a realistic everyday method on the smaller batteries: the B10 Hybrid EV fills from empty in about nine hours, the C10 Hybrid EV in fourteen, the T03 in around eighteen. On a C10, B10 or B05 it runs past thirty hours, so there it is a spare for trips rather than a routine. More on charging from a domestic socket.
Measure from your charge point to the charging flap with the car parked as you normally leave it, then allow slack so the cable is not pulled taut. 5m suits a wallbox beside the flap and often works on the T03, which is a very short car. 10m is our most popular length and covers most driveways. 15m and 20m handle detached garages, shared parking and chargers on the far side of the house. Worth noting the charge port is on the rear left of the C10 and the rear right of the B10, so a length that works on one may not on the other.
Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated, Type 2 to 3-Pin cables IP67, all CE and TUV certified and rated from -30C to 55C so they can live outdoors year round. What the IP rating means. Two-year manufacturer's warranty throughout, free next working day delivery, and using a third-party cable does not affect your vehicle warranty.

Does a Leapmotor Hybrid EV need a charging cable?
Yes, and more than most hybrids do. Leapmotor's Hybrid EV models are range extenders: the petrol engine drives a generator and never turns the wheels, so the car is always running on electricity. The battery is designed to be filled from the mains, and if you never plug it in you are burning petrol to make that electricity. Both the C10 Hybrid EV and the B10 Hybrid EV have a Type 2 socket and take 6.6 kW.
Do I already have a cable with my Leapmotor?
Possibly. Leapmotor UK lists Type-2 AC and domestic 3-pin charging cables as standard equipment on the B10, B10 Hybrid EV and B05. It does not publish the length or amperage, and factory cables are commonly around 5m and 16A rather than 32A, so the usual reasons to buy from us are a longer lead or the full 32A rating. If the bundled cable reaches your wallbox and is 32A, you do not need another one.
What charging cable does a Leapmotor use?
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable, across the entire UK range. There is no Type 1 Leapmotor. For charging from a household three-pin socket you need a Type 2 to 3-Pin cable instead. We recommend the 32A single-phase version for every model, since it covers both the 6.6 kW cars in full and the 7.4 kW that a UK home supply gives the 11 kW cars.
Is the Leapmotor C10 a 6.6 kW or an 11 kW car?
We have gone with 6.6 kW. That is the figure in Leapmotor's own UK press material, and it is what UK reviewers who actually charged the car report, including Top Gear, Carbuyer and Electrifying. Several spec databases and aggregator pages list 11 kW three-phase instead. Leapmotor did upgrade the C10 to 11 kW for the 2025 model year in Malaysia, so the higher figure is not invented, but we found no evidence it applies to British cars. A 32A single-phase cable is correct under either figure.
Do I need a three-phase cable for a Leapmotor?
Only on the B10 or B05, and only if you have a genuine three-phase supply. Those two are the 11 kW cars. The T03, the C10 and both range extenders cap at 6.6 kW, so a three-phase cable does nothing for them at all. On an ordinary single-phase house no Leapmotor exceeds 7.4 kW.
Can I run a Leapmotor T03 from a normal plug socket?
Plausibly, yes. At 2.3 kW a 3-pin cable fills the T03's 36 kWh battery in around eighteen hours, adding roughly 11 miles of range an hour. On a car with 165 miles of range and a city-driving brief, an overnight charge covers most people's daily mileage several times over. A wallbox and a 32A cable is quicker and cheaper to run, but the 3-pin route is workable here in a way it is not on a B05.
Will using a third-party cable affect my Leapmotor warranty?
No. A cable built to the IEC 62196 Type 2 standard and carrying CE and TUV certification does not affect your vehicle warranty. Ours carry a two-year manufacturer's warranty of their own.

| Leapmotor C10, 69.9 kWh | 6.6 kW | 263 miles | Type 2 | 34h 15m | 12h 00m |
| Leapmotor T03, 37.3 kWh | 6.6 kW | 165 miles | Type 2 | 17h 45m | 6h 15m |
| Leapmotor C10 Hybrid EV, 28.4 kWh | 6.6 kW | up to 94 miles electric | Type 2 | 14h 00m | 5h 00m |
| Leapmotor B10 Hybrid EV, 18.8 kWh | 6.6 kW | 50 miles electric | Type 2 | 9h 15m | 3h 15m |
Max charge speed is the vehicle's onboard AC charger, which limits charging regardless of the cable or wallbox used. Charging station times assume a 7.4 kW single-phase home wallbox, the standard UK domestic supply, with the 6.6 kW cars limited to their own ceiling. Both Hybrid EV models are range extenders: they plug in and charge exactly like an electric car, they simply carry a petrol generator for longer journeys. The Leapmotor B03X is announced for the UK but not yet on sale, and its charging specification has not been published.
