Lexus EV Charging Cables
Three Lexus models in this collection plug in: the NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid, the fully electric RZ and the fully electric UX 300e. All three charge through a Type 2 socket, so a Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the fitting to look for, and the 32A single phase version is the one to order for home charging on every one of them.
The self-charging cars are what catch people out. The NX 350h, the NX 300h, the UX 250h and the UX 300h have no charging port anywhere on the body, so no cable on this page will connect to them. If your Lexus has never been plugged in, and there is no second flap behind the rear wheel or on the front wing, it is one of those and needs no cable of any kind.
Read MoreThe NX 450h+ charges at up to 6.6 kW through a Type 2 inlet on the rear left wing, which is unusually quick for a plug-in hybrid. A 32A single phase cable fills the 18.1 kWh battery in about 3 hours. A 16A lead caps the car at 3.7 kW and takes 5 hours 30 minutes, so the cheaper cable costs you two and a half hours on every charge. A three phase lead buys nothing, because the 6.6 kW limit is single phase and lives in the car.
The 2026 RZ 350e, 500e and 550e carry a 22 kW onboard charger, and the earlier RZ 450e and RZ 300e an 11 kW one. At home a single phase supply caps either at 7.4 kW, which the 32A single phase cable delivers in full, giving about 11 hours 45 minutes on the 77 kWh car. The 32A three phase cable is worth buying only where three real phases arrive at the socket, and on a 2026 RZ it is the one cable that uses the car fully. The UX 300e is simpler: 6.6 kW on every UK car, about 7 hours 45 minutes for the 45 kWh 2021 to 2022 model and about 11 hours for the 64 kWh 2023 car.
5m suits a car parked with its flap close to the wallbox. 10m covers a nose-in park, a charger on the far side of the drive, or a socket the cable has to run the length of the car to reach. Our Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated and built to IEC 62196-2, our Type 2 to 3 Pin cables are IP67, all CE certified and rated from -30C to +50C, or -30C to +60C for the 3 pin. A 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery apply to everything here.

What charging cable does a Lexus need?
The three Lexus models that plug in all charge through a Type 2 socket, so a Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the fitting to look for. The NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid, the fully electric RZ and the fully electric UX 300e each take the 32A single phase version for home charging. No Type 1 Lexus has been sold in Britain, so the connector is the same on all three cars.
Which Lexus models have no charging socket?
The self-charging hybrids. The NX 350h, the NX 300h, the UX 250h and the UX 300h have no charging port anywhere on the body, so no cable on this page will connect to them. If your Lexus has never been plugged in, and there is no second flap behind the rear wheel or on the front wing, it is one of those and needs no cable at all.
How long does a Lexus take to charge at home?
The NX 450h+ fills its 18.1 kWh battery in about 3 hours on a 32A cable, or 5 hours 30 minutes on a 16A one. A 77 kWh RZ takes about 11 hours 45 minutes at 7.4 kW. The UX 300e runs to about 7 hours 45 minutes on the 45 kWh 2021 to 2022 car and about 11 hours on the 64 kWh 2023 model.
Does the 22kW charger on the RZ help at home?
No. Domestic supplies in Britain carry one phase and stop at 7.4 kW, so a 2026 RZ charges at exactly the same speed on a home wallbox as the earlier 11 kW cars did, and the 32A single phase cable delivers that 7.4 kW in full. The 22 kW capability only appears where a genuine three phase supply exists, and there the 32A three phase cable cuts a full charge to about 4 hours.
Is a 16A cable enough for a Lexus?
It fits the same socket but holds the car to 3.7 kW. On the NX 450h+ that adds two and a half hours to every charge. On the RZ and the 64 kWh UX 300e it roughly doubles an already long charge, which is too slow for batteries that size. For all three cars the 32A single phase lead is the sensible buy.
Does a Lexus come with a charging cable?
Lexus lists a Type 2 Mode 3 32 amp cable and a 3-pin 10 amp cable as standard equipment on the RZ, and Lexus UK confirms a cable is supplied with the NX 450h+ for public charging. Owners still buy a second lead for length, for a spare to leave at work, or because the supplied cable is single phase rated and cannot deliver 22 kW.
Should I buy 5m or 10m?
5m suits a car parked with its flap close to the wallbox. The NX 450h+ has its inlet on the rear left wing, which favours reversing in. 10m covers a nose-in park, a charger on the far side of the drive, or a socket the cable has to run the length of the car to reach. A 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery apply to both.
