Product Description

The Volvo XC60 Recharge is a plug-in hybrid SUV that combines Scandinavian design with an electric-only range for daily commutes. The right charging cable ensures you can top up the battery at home and make the most of every electric mile.

The Volvo XC60 uses a Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable with a maximum onboard charging speed of 3.7 kW. At this speed, all Type 2 cable options charge at the same rate. Choosing a higher-rated cable will not charge any quicker, but it does future-proof you if you upgrade to a vehicle with a faster onboard charger down the line.

We stock the Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable in 5m and 10m lengths. Our Type 2 to 3-Pin Charging Cable is available in the same lengths for portable home charging from a standard UK plug socket.

All our Type 2 to Type 2 charging cables are IP55 rated and our Type 2 to 3-Pin charging cables are IP67 rated. What the IP rating means. Every cable is CE and TUV safety certified and comes with a two-year manufacturer's warranty and free UK delivery. Using a third-party cable does not affect your vehicle warranty.

Volvo XC60 Charging Times by Variant

The table below shows estimated charging times from empty to full. The XC60's onboard charger is limited to 3.7 kW, so all Type 2 to Type 2 cable options deliver the same charge time.

Impact Resistance

Our EV Charging Cables are designed for high durability, capable of withstanding drops from a height of 2 meters. The video above demonstrates the impressive impact resistance of our cables.

Waterproof Design

Our EV Charging Cables are built to perform in all weather conditions. As showcased in the video above, these cables are fully waterproof, ensuring reliable charging even in wet environments.

Compatibility

Only a T6 or T8 Recharge XC60 plugs in. A B4, B5 or B6 is a mild hybrid with no charging port, and neither does an older D4, D5 or T5. Trim level makes no difference to charging.

The battery grew from about 10.4 kWh to 18.8 kWh over the car's life, and Volvo upgraded the onboard charger from 3.7 kW to 6.4 kW along the way. A 32A cable is the safe choice on any of them, because it charges at whatever rate your car accepts.

  • Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable:

A charging cable that connects electric vehicles (EVs) with a Type 2 connector to charging points is also equipped with a Type 2 socket. It supports faster charging speeds and is commonly used across Europe for EVs with this standard connection.

  • Type 2 to 3 Pin Charging Cable:

This cable allows electric vehicles with a Type 2 socket to charge from a standard UK 3-pin domestic outlet. It provides a slower charge but is useful for home or emergency charging when dedicated charging stations aren't available.

  • Type 2 Extension Cable:

A cable is used to extend the reach of a Type 2 charging cable. It’s helpful when the existing cable is too short to connect an electric vehicle to the charging point, providing more flexibility in parking.

  • Type 2 Tethered Cable:

A fixed charging cable attached to a charging point, designed for electric vehicles with a Type 2 socket. The tethered design eliminates the need to carry a separate cable, offering convenience for regular charging at home or work.

  • Type 1 to Type 2 Charging Cable:

A charging cable that connects electric vehicles with a Type 1 socket to charging points equipped with a Type 2 outlet. This allows EVs with the older Type 1 standard to use more modern charging infrastructure.

  • Type 1 to 3 Pin Charging Cable:

This cable enables electric vehicles with a Type 1 connector to charge from a standard UK 3-pin household outlet. It’s suitable for slower charging at home when dedicated EV charging points aren’t accessible.

Sizing guide
  • 5m - Charging Cable Length

A 5M charging cable is the shortest length that we offer. This is great if you can park close to the electricity supply and you don't need much length to reach your car this is a great option for you.

  • 10m - Charging Cable Length

A 10M charging cable is the most popular length. It allows you to have enough flexibility whilst still being easy enough to move. This is a great option if you cannot park close to the electricity supply.

  • 15m - Charging Cable Length

A 15M charging cable is a great choice if you need some extra flexibility, i.e. get past another car or reach the other end of a driveway. The length of the cable does not affect the charging speed.

  • 20m - Charging Cable Length

A 20M charging cable is the longest cable that we currently offer. 20M should be sufficient to reach the vast majority of locations where you would like to charge your car. If this isn't enough you can always add an extension cable.

How to chose your charge speed?
  • 6amp - 12amp Adjustable

If you are looking to charge your car using a 3-pin socket this is a great choice for you. The maximum charge speed for a 3 pin socket is 12 amps,  so this cable will be capable of charging at the maximum charge speed but it also gives you the option if you want to charge at a slower speed (Reducing risk and costs).

  • 16amp

A 16amp cable will be able to charge at 3.6kW. This is the cheapest product if your car's max charge speed is 3.6kW. If you have two electric cars or are looking to purchase another it might be worth considering a faster charging cable as this could limit charge speeds moving forward.

  • 32amp

A 32amp charging cable will be able to charge at 7.2kW. This is the maximum output from a domestic house. A 32amp charge speed will also be able to charge at all lower charge speeds (i.e 16amp - 3.6kW). This is a great choice if you are limited to 7.2kW or you only charge your car at home.

  • 32amp (3 Phase)

A 32amp 3-phase charging cable will be able to charge at all speeds up to 22kW. This cable will ensure that your ev charging cable never limits your charge speed at home or in public. This cable is also capable of charging at all lower charge speeds.
