Product Description

Order the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable if you run the E-PACE P300e. That is the only E-PACE with a charging socket, and 7 kW is the most it will draw on AC, so a 32A lead lets it work at its full speed.

Jaguar sold the P300e plug-in hybrid from 2021 until the end of 2024. It carries an 11.6 kWh usable battery, around 15 kWh gross, behind a Type 2 inlet. Because the pack is small, a 32A cable brings it from empty to full in roughly an hour and three quarters, which is inside the length of an evening meal.

A 16A cable caps the flow at 3.7 kW and doubles that to about three and a half hours. On a battery this size the gap is less painful than it would be on a full electric car, so the 16A cable is a reasonable saving if you plug in overnight and never think about it. If you charge between school runs, buy the 32A.

Every other E-PACE stays away from this page. The D165 and D200 diesels, and the P200, P250 and P300 petrols, are either plain combustion cars or 48V mild hybrids. A mild hybrid recovers energy under braking and has no charging port, so no cable connects to it.

Jaguar's badge rule settles any doubt across the range: a lower case letter e on the end of the badge means the car plugs in. P300e does. P300 does not.

One detail on the P300e. Unusually for a plug-in hybrid it also accepts DC, and Jaguar states that the car tops out at 32 kW even on a 50 kW unit. DC has nothing to do with the cable you buy, since those chargers carry their own lead.

The 22 kW three phase cable brings nothing at home. UK houses run on a single phase, so a domestic charge point cannot exceed 7.4 kW, and the P300e stops at 7 kW anyway. Speed is always set by whichever is lowest: car, supply or cable.

If you have moved up to the larger F-PACE P400e, it holds 15.4 kWh usable and also charges at 7 kW, so the same 32A cable is the right choice.

Which Jaguar E-PACE needs a charging cable?

Only the P300e plug-in hybrid, built from 2021 to 2024. It has an 11.6 kWh usable battery and a Type 2 inlet that accepts 7 kW, so a 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable suits it. The D165, D200, P200, P250 and P300 have no charging port and cannot use a cable at all.

Is a 32A cable worth it on an E-PACE P300e?

It depends how you charge. With 11.6 kWh usable, the 32A cable delivers 7 kW and finishes in about 1h45m, while a 16A cable manages 3.7 kW and takes roughly 3h30m. If you plug in and leave it overnight, 16A is enough. If you turn the car round during the day, pay for 32A.

How long does an E-PACE P300e take to charge?

Around one hour forty five minutes from empty using a 32A cable on a home charge point, because the car draws 7 kW into an 11.6 kWh usable pack. A 16A cable stretches it to about three and a half hours. From a domestic three pin socket at 2.3 kW, allow close to six hours.

How do I tell if my E-PACE plugs in?

Check the badge for a lower case e at the end. P300e plugs in, P300 does not, and the same rule holds across the Jaguar range. If the badge has been removed, the V5C logbook settles it, because a P300e is recorded as a plug-in hybrid electric while a P300 is recorded as petrol.

Does the E-PACE P300e have rapid charging?

It does, which is rare for a plug-in hybrid. Jaguar quotes a 50 kW charger but states that the car itself peaks at 32 kW on DC. That is entirely separate from your purchase here, because DC charge points come with their own fixed lead. Your cable is for AC charging at 7 kW.

What length cable suits a Jaguar E-PACE?

Five metres is plenty when the wall box sits next to the parking space and you always arrive the same way round. Choose 10m if you reverse onto the drive, park across a wide garage, or rely on kerbside posts where the bay is never in the same place. Length has no effect on the 7 kW charge rate.

Compatibility

Only one E-PACE plugs in: the P300e plug-in hybrid, sold from 2021 to the end of 2024. Every other E-PACE, including the D200 diesel and the P250 and P300 petrols, is a mild hybrid or a plain combustion car with no charging port. Jaguar's badge rule is simple and worth remembering across the whole range: the lower-case e on the end is the plug. The P300e is unusual for a plug-in hybrid in having DC rapid charging, though at a modest rate. Jaguar's own specification sheet is refreshingly honest about it, quoting a 50 kW charger but noting the car's own maximum is 32 kW.

  • 5m - Charging Cable Length

    A 5M charging cable is the shortest length that we offer. It is a great option if you can park close to the charge point and do not need much length to reach your car.

  • 10m - Charging Cable Length

    A 10M charging cable is the most popular length. It allows you to have enough flexibility whilst still being easy enough to move. This is a great option if you cannot park close to the electricity supply.

  • 15m - Charging Cable Length

    A 15M charging cable is a great choice if you need some extra flexibility, i.e. get past another car or reach the other end of a driveway. The length of the cable does not affect the charging speed.

  • 20m - Charging Cable Length

    A 20M charging cable is the longest cable that we currently offer. 20M reaches the vast majority of locations where you would want to charge your car. Always use one continuous cable. Never join two charging cables together and never charge through an extension lead, because the join is where heat builds up.

How to choose your charge speed
  • 6amp - 12amp Adjustable

    The choice if you will charge from a standard UK 3 pin socket. It runs at the most the socket can safely supply, and the control box lets you turn the current down for a slower, gentler charge overnight or on an older circuit.

  • 16amp

    A 16amp cable will be able to charge at 3.7kW. This is the cheapest product if your car's max charge speed is 3.7kW. If you have two electric cars or are looking to purchase another it might be worth considering a faster charging cable as this could limit charge speeds moving forward.

  • 32amp

    A 32amp charging cable will be able to charge at 7.4kW, which is the most a single phase UK home supply can deliver. A 32amp cable also charges at every lower speed (for example 16amp, 3.7kW), so it is the right choice if your home charge point is 7.4kW or you mostly charge at home.

  • 32amp (3 Phase)

    A 32amp 3-phase charging cable will be able to charge at all speeds up to 22kW, so the cable never limits your charge speed at home or in public. It is also capable of charging at all lower charge speeds.
