Product Description

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has been on sale since 2021 and was facelifted in 2024, when the largest battery grew to 84 kWh. Every version, including the Ioniq 5 N, uses the same Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable and accepts 11 kW on AC, so the facelift changes how long a charge takes but not what you plug in.

Reaching 11 kW needs a three-phase supply. Almost every UK home is single phase, which caps the car at 7.4 kW, so our 1-Phase, 32A cable is the right buy for home charging.

The Ioniq 5 is often bought for its 800-volt rapid charging, and that is genuinely quick, but it happens through the car's own CCS port at a public rapid charger. It has nothing to do with the cable you use at home.

We stock the Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable in 5m and 10m lengths. Our Type 2 to 3-Pin Charging Cable is available in the same lengths for charging from an ordinary UK 13A socket. More on charging from a domestic socket.

The Ioniq 5 shares its platform with the Kia EV6, and our Hyundai Kona cables cover the smaller car.

All our Type 2 to Type 2 charging cables are IP55 rated and our Type 2 to 3-Pin charging cables are IP67 rated. What the IP rating means. Each cable meets the IEC 62196 Type 2 standard, carries CE and TUV safety certification, and is backed by a two-year manufacturer's warranty and free UK delivery.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Charging Times

Every Ioniq 5 has the same 11 kW onboard charger, so battery size is the only thing that changes the time. Find yours in the left column.

Sizing guide
  • Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable:

A charging cable that connects electric vehicles (EVs) with a Type 2 connector to charging points is also equipped with a Type 2 socket. It supports faster charging speeds and is commonly used across Europe for EVs with this standard connection.

  • Type 2 to 3 Pin Charging Cable:

This cable allows electric vehicles with a Type 2 socket to charge from a standard UK 3-pin domestic outlet. It provides a slower charge but is useful for home or emergency charging when dedicated charging stations aren't available.

  • Type 2 Extension Cable:

A cable is used to extend the reach of a Type 2 charging cable. It’s helpful when the existing cable is too short to connect an electric vehicle to the charging point, providing more flexibility in parking.

  • Type 2 Tethered Cable:

A fixed charging cable attached to a charging point, designed for electric vehicles with a Type 2 socket. The tethered design eliminates the need to carry a separate cable, offering convenience for regular charging at home or work.

  • Type 1 to Type 2 Charging Cable:

A charging cable that connects electric vehicles with a Type 1 socket to charging points equipped with a Type 2 outlet. This allows EVs with the older Type 1 standard to use more modern charging infrastructure.

  • Type 1 to 3 Pin Charging Cable:

This cable enables electric vehicles with a Type 1 connector to charge from a standard UK 3-pin household outlet. It’s suitable for slower charging at home when dedicated EV charging points aren’t accessible.

Sizing guide
  • 5m - Charging Cable Length

A 5M charging cable is the shortest length that we offer. This is great if you can park close to the electricity supply and you don't need much length to reach your car this is a great option for you.

  • 10m - Charging Cable Length

A 10M charging cable is the most popular length. It allows you to have enough flexibility whilst still being easy enough to move. This is a great option if you cannot park close to the electricity supply.

  • 15m - Charging Cable Length

A 15M charging cable is a great choice if you need some extra flexibility, i.e. get past another car or reach the other end of a driveway. The length of the cable does not affect the charging speed.

  • 20m - Charging Cable Length

A 20M charging cable is the longest cable that we currently offer. 20M should be sufficient to reach the vast majority of locations where you would like to charge your car. If this isn't enough you can always add an extension cable.

How to chose your charge speed?
  • 6amp - 12amp Adjustable

If you are looking to charge your car using a 3-pin socket this is a great choice for you. The maximum charge speed for a 3 pin socket is 12 amps,  so this cable will be capable of charging at the maximum charge speed but it also gives you the option if you want to charge at a slower speed (Reducing risk and costs).

  • 16amp

A 16amp cable will be able to charge at 3.6kW. This is the cheapest product if your car's max charge speed is 3.6kW. If you have two electric cars or are looking to purchase another it might be worth considering a faster charging cable as this could limit charge speeds moving forward.

  • 32amp

A 32amp charging cable will be able to charge at 7.2kW. This is the maximum output from a domestic house. A 32amp charge speed will also be able to charge at all lower charge speeds (i.e 16amp - 3.6kW). This is a great choice if you are limited to 7.2kW or you only charge your car at home.

  • 32amp (3 Phase)

A 32amp 3-phase charging cable will be able to charge at all speeds up to 22kW. This cable will ensure that your ev charging cable never limits your charge speed at home or in public. This cable is also capable of charging at all lower charge speeds.
