Only an A7 wearing a TFSI e badge plugs in. A petrol TFSI, a TDI diesel, an S7 or an RS 7 has no charging port, and no cable will help. In the UK the plug-in A7 was sold as a Sportback only.
For the TFSI e, buy the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The car accepts 7.4 kW on AC and a 32A single phase cable delivers precisely that. Because the battery is small by electric car standards, a full charge is quick: about 2 hours 45 minutes on the later 17.9 kWh pack.
There are two battery sizes. Cars built in 2020 carry 14.1 kWh and fill in roughly 2 hours 15 minutes at 7.4 kW. From 2021 Audi fitted 17.9 kWh, which adds about half an hour. The 50 TFSI e and the 55 TFSI e share the same batteries and the same charging, so the badge on the boot does not change the cable you need, and neither does trim.
Do not spend extra on the three phase cable. The A7 TFSI e stops at 7.4 kW on AC whatever it is plugged into, so a three phase supply gives it nothing. The 22 kW rating you see on some public posts is simply irrelevant to this car.
The 16A cable is a fair second choice here in a way it never is on a big battery car. Limited to 3.7 kW it takes about 5 hours 30 minutes for the 17.9 kWh battery, which still fits inside a night. A Type 2 to 3 pin lead runs at 2.3 kW and needs about 8 hours 45 minutes, making it a workable fallback for an overnight stay rather than a daily habit.
The A7 Sportback is a long car, and plug-in hybrid drivers tend to charge in more places than pure electric owners do, including at work and in hotel car parks. That argues for 10m. Take 5m if home is the only place you ever plug in and the wallbox sits beside the bay.

Compatible with all Type 2 cars
A 32A Type 2 to Type 2. The A7 TFSI e accepts 7.4 kW on AC and this cable carries exactly that, so the car charges as fast as it is able. Expect about 2 hours 45 minutes for the 17.9 kWh battery and roughly 2 hours 15 minutes for the earlier 14.1 kWh one.
No. Only the TFSI e plug-in hybrid has a charging port. A7 models badged TFSI petrol or TDI diesel, together with the S7 and the RS 7, run on fuel alone and cannot use a charging cable at all. In Britain the plug-in version came exclusively as a Sportback.
About 2 hours 15 minutes for a 2020 car with the 14.1 kWh battery on a 7.4 kW supply, and about 2 hours 45 minutes for a 2021 to 2023 car with 17.9 kWh. The 16A cable stretches those to roughly 4 hours 15 minutes and 5 hours 30 minutes respectively.
None at all. The car's own AC limit is 7.4 kW, so feeding it from three phase power through a 22 kW cable achieves nothing extra. Take the 32A single phase cable instead, which reaches the same 7.4 kW at home and at any public AC post, and costs less.
It changed during production. Cars from 2020 use a 14.1 kWh battery. From 2021 until production ended in 2023, Audi fitted 17.9 kWh. Both the 50 TFSI e and the 55 TFSI e follow that timeline, and both charge through a Type 2 socket at up to 7.4 kW.
10m is the more flexible buy, because plug-in hybrid drivers often charge at work or in car parks where the bay layout is not theirs to choose. 5m is enough if you only ever charge at home next to a wallbox. Both cables deliver the same 7.4 kW.

A charging cable that connects electric vehicles (EVs) with a Type 2 connector to charging points is also equipped with a Type 2 socket. It supports faster charging speeds and is commonly used across Europe for EVs with this standard connection.

A 10M charging cable is the most popular length. It allows you to have enough flexibility whilst still being easy enough to move. This is a great option if you cannot park close to the electricity supply.
A 15M charging cable is a great choice if you need some extra flexibility, i.e. get past another car or reach the other end of a driveway. The length of the cable does not affect the charging speed.
A 20M charging cable is the longest cable that we currently offer. 20M reaches the vast majority of locations where you would want to charge your car. Always use one continuous cable. Never join two charging cables together and never charge through an extension lead, because the join is where heat builds up.
The choice if you will charge from a standard UK 3 pin socket. It runs at the most the socket can safely supply, and the control box lets you turn the current down for a slower, gentler charge overnight or on an older circuit.
A 16amp cable will be able to charge at 3.7kW. This is the cheapest product if your car's max charge speed is 3.7kW. If you have two electric cars or are looking to purchase another it might be worth considering a faster charging cable as this could limit charge speeds moving forward.
A 32amp charging cable will be able to charge at 7.4kW, which is the most a single phase UK home supply can deliver. A 32amp cable also charges at every lower speed (for example 16amp, 3.7kW), so it is the right choice if your home charge point is 7.4kW or you mostly charge at home.
A 32amp 3-phase charging cable will be able to charge at all speeds up to 22kW, so the cable never limits your charge speed at home or in public. It is also capable of charging at all lower charge speeds.
