Product Description

Order the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for a Vivaro-e. Every version of this van, whether it wears the Vivaro-e badge or the Vivaro Electric name it took in 2024, has a Type 2 socket and a 7.4 kW onboard charger as standard. On the single phase supply feeding a house or a small industrial unit, 7.4 kW is also the ceiling, and the 32A lead is the one that reaches it. A 16A cable will connect and charge, but at 3.7 kW it nearly doubles the time a van stands idle overnight.

An 11 kW three phase charger sits on the options list, and it is worth finding out whether your van has one. It only repays the money where there is genuine three phase power, such as a depot or a commercial yard, and only when paired with the 32A three phase cable. Plug an 11 kW van in at a house and it still draws 7.4 kW. The 2024 rename changed the badging and the trim levels, not the charging hardware, so a 2021 van and a 2025 van take exactly the same lead.

Battery size is what moves the timings. The 50 kWh van holds 46.3 kWh usable, the 75 kWh version holds 69 kWh, and the larger pack takes roughly half as long again to fill. Both carry a CCS socket alongside the Type 2 one, rated at 100 kW on the 50 kWh van. The Vivaro-e Life and Vivaro Life Electric people carriers use the same figures. Diesel Vivaros have no charging port and take no cable at all.

Running a mixed fleet is simpler than it looks. The Vivaro-e is the same van as the Citroen e-Dispatch and the Peugeot e-Expert, so one cable specification covers all three badges and keeps your spares cupboard small.

On length, 10m is the sensible fleet choice, because vans park where there is space rather than where the charger happens to be. 5m suits a dedicated bay. Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated and the Type 2 to 3 Pin lead is IP67, both with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery.

Which cable does the Vivaro-e need?

The 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. Every Vivaro-e has a Type 2 socket and a 7.4 kW onboard charger as standard, and 7.4 kW is also the most a single phase UK supply will give you. A 16A lead connects safely but drops the van to 3.7 kW, which doubles the overnight charge.

Does my van have the 11 kW charger?

It was an option rather than standard fitment, so check the build sheet or ask the supplying dealer. On a single phase supply it makes no difference at all, since the van still takes 7.4 kW at a house or a small unit. The 11 kW charger only earns its keep on three phase power.

How long does a Vivaro-e take to charge?

The 50 kWh van holds 46.3 kWh usable and fills in around 7 hours at 7.4 kW using a 32A cable. The 75 kWh version holds 69 kWh usable and takes roughly 10 hours 30 minutes. With the 11 kW charger on three phase power those drop to about 4 hours 45 minutes and 7 hours.

Is Vivaro Electric different to Vivaro-e?

Only in name and trim. Vauxhall renamed the van in 2024, keeping the 46.3 and 69 kWh usable batteries, the Type 2 socket and the 7.4 kW standard charger with 11 kW optional. A cable bought for a 2021 Vivaro-e fits a 2025 Vivaro Electric with nothing to change or adapt.

Will it fit an e-Dispatch or e-Expert?

Yes. The Citroen e-Dispatch and the Peugeot e-Expert are the same van as the Vivaro-e, built with the same Type 2 socket and the same battery choices. If you run a mixed fleet, one 32A Type 2 to Type 2 specification covers all three badges and keeps your spares cupboard simple.

What length works best for a van?

10m for most fleets. Vans park where there is room rather than where the charger sits, and a panel van is long enough that five metres runs short at a shared post. Choose 5m only where each vehicle has its own bay with the charging unit mounted directly beside it.

Compatibility

The Vivaro-e is Type 2 throughout, with a 7.4 kW onboard charger as standard and an 11 kW three-phase charger as an option, and the 2024 update that renamed it Vivaro Electric changed the trim and the badge but not the charging hardware. Two things worth knowing if you run a fleet. First, the 11 kW option only pays off at a depot with three-phase power; on a single-phase supply the van still draws 7.4 kW. Second, this is the same van as the Citroen e-Dispatch and the Peugeot e-Expert, so if you run a mixed fleet, one cable specification covers all three.

  • Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable:

  • Type 2 to 3 Pin Charging Cable:

  • 5m - Charging Cable Length

    A 5M charging cable is the shortest length that we offer. It is a great option if you can park close to the charge point and do not need much length to reach your car.

  • 10m - Charging Cable Length

    A 10M charging cable is the most popular length. It allows you to have enough flexibility whilst still being easy enough to move. This is a great option if you cannot park close to the electricity supply.

  • 15m - Charging Cable Length

    A 15M charging cable is a great choice if you need some extra flexibility, i.e. get past another car or reach the other end of a driveway. The length of the cable does not affect the charging speed.

  • 20m - Charging Cable Length

    A 20M charging cable is the longest cable that we currently offer. 20M reaches the vast majority of locations where you would want to charge your car. Always use one continuous cable. Never join two charging cables together and never charge through an extension lead, because the join is where heat builds up.

How to choose your charge speed
  • 6amp - 12amp Adjustable

    The choice if you will charge from a standard UK 3 pin socket. It runs at the most the socket can safely supply, and the control box lets you turn the current down for a slower, gentler charge overnight or on an older circuit.

  • 16amp

    A 16amp cable will be able to charge at 3.7kW. This is the cheapest product if your car's max charge speed is 3.7kW. If you have two electric cars or are looking to purchase another it might be worth considering a faster charging cable as this could limit charge speeds moving forward.

  • 32amp

    A 32amp charging cable will be able to charge at 7.4kW, which is the most a single phase UK home supply can deliver. A 32amp cable also charges at every lower speed (for example 16amp, 3.7kW), so it is the right choice if your home charge point is 7.4kW or you mostly charge at home.

  • 32amp (3 Phase)

    A 32amp 3-phase charging cable will be able to charge at all speeds up to 22kW, so the cable never limits your charge speed at home or in public. It is also capable of charging at all lower charge speeds.
