The Vauxhall Mokka-e accepts up to 11 kW on AC, three phase, standard on every UK trim. A 22 kW lead covers the quickest version built and is the one to bring to a three-phase post.

Charging on your own driveway only? Domestic supply here is single phase and caps the car at 7.4 kW. The 32A single-phase cable (5m / 10m / 15m / 20m) delivers that in full and costs less.

Buy the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for a Vauxhall Mokka-e. Every electric Mokka listed below carries a Type 2 inlet, and every one of them draws 7.4 kW once it is plugged in at a British home. The 32A cable is the only one we stock that lets the car reach that figure, so it is the default whether your car is a 2021 example or a 2025 one.

The Mokka-e is the odd one out in the Vauxhall range, in a good way. Where the Corsa-e of the same period treated the 11 kW three phase charger as an upgrade, the Mokka-e was given it as standard from launch. On the 54 kWh Long Range that arrived in early 2024, Vauxhall inverted the usual arrangement again and offered a 7 kW charger as the cheaper alternative. All of that only shows up on three phase power. British houses are single phase, which caps the supply at 7.4 kW whatever the car can accept, so on your driveway only battery size separates them.

That battery split is what moves the numbers. The 2021 to 2023 car holds 46.3 kWh usable out of a 50 kWh pack. The Long Range and the 2025 facelift hold 50.8 kWh usable out of 54 kWh. On a 32A cable that works out at a little over seven hours for the earlier car and a little under eight for the later one, so either way it is a single overnight charge.

Choose the 16A cable only if you are plugging into a 16A commando socket or an older post, because it holds the car at 3.7 kW and roughly doubles those times. The Type 2 to 3 Pin cable is a different tool again: 2.3 kW from a domestic socket, adjustable from 6A to 12A, and best kept as a backup for a relative's house or a holiday cottage. Filling a Mokka-e from a wall plug takes most of a day.

The 32A three phase cable earns its price only if you regularly use three phase posts at work or in a commercial car park, where the Mokka-e will take its full 11 kW. It is backwards compatible and still runs at 7.4 kW on your home unit.

Which charging cable does the Vauxhall Mokka-e need?

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable in 32A. The Mokka-e and Mokka Electric both use a Type 2 inlet, and both pull 7.4 kW from a single phase home supply, which is exactly what the 32A cable delivers. The 16A version would hold the car back to 3.7 kW for no useful saving in day to day use.

How long does a Mokka-e take to charge at home?

About 7 hours for the 2021 to 2023 car, which has 46.3 kWh usable, and about 7 hours 45 minutes for the 54 kWh Long Range and 2025 facelift with 50.8 kWh usable. Both figures assume an empty battery and a 32A cable on a 7.4 kW home charge point, so either is a normal overnight fill.

Is the 32A three phase cable worth it for a Mokka-e?

Only if you regularly charge somewhere with three phase power. The Mokka-e has the 11 kW three phase charger as standard, so on such a post it drops to roughly 4 hours 45 minutes for the 50 kWh car. At home it makes no difference at all, because a British single phase supply stops at 7.4 kW.

Mokka-e or Mokka Electric, are they different cars?

They are the same car under two names. Vauxhall dropped the hyphen in 2024 when the 54 kWh Long Range arrived, so Mokka-e became Mokka Electric. Both take the same 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. Petrol, diesel and 48V hybrid Mokkas are separate models with no charging port at all.

Can I charge a Mokka-e from a three pin socket?

Yes, with our Type 2 to 3 Pin cable, which is adjustable from 6A to 12A and tops out at 2.3 kW. That means roughly 22 hours 45 minutes for the 50 kWh car and 25 hours for the 54 kWh one, so treat it as a backup for holiday lets and family visits rather than your everyday cable.

Should I buy the 5m or the 10m Mokka-e cable?

The 5m suits a wall unit on the same side of the driveway as the car's charge port. Pick 10m if you park nose in on one side and the unit is on the other, or if you also use public posts where the bay layout is unpredictable. Both carry the same 7.4 kW at 32A.

Compatibility

The Mokka-e is the odd one out in the Vauxhall range, in a good way: unlike the Corsa-e of the same period, it was sold with the 11 kW three-phase charger as standard from launch. On the 54 kWh Long Range, Vauxhall even offered a 7 kW charger as the cheaper alternative, which is the reverse of how the rest of the industry does it. All of that only matters on three-phase power. At home, on a normal single-phase UK supply, every Mokka-e in this table charges at 7.4 kW and a 32A Type 2 cable is the correct buy. Note the name lost its hyphen in 2024: Mokka-e became Mokka Electric.

  • 5m - Charging Cable Length

    A 5M charging cable is the shortest length that we offer. It is a great option if you can park close to the charge point and do not need much length to reach your car.

  • 10m - Charging Cable Length

    A 10M charging cable is the most popular length. It allows you to have enough flexibility whilst still being easy enough to move. This is a great option if you cannot park close to the electricity supply.

  • 15m - Charging Cable Length

    A 15M charging cable is a great choice if you need some extra flexibility, i.e. get past another car or reach the other end of a driveway. The length of the cable does not affect the charging speed.

  • 20m - Charging Cable Length

    A 20M charging cable is the longest cable that we currently offer. 20M reaches the vast majority of locations where you would want to charge your car. Always use one continuous cable. Never join two charging cables together and never charge through an extension lead, because the join is where heat builds up.

How to choose your charge speed
  • 6amp - 12amp Adjustable

    The choice if you will charge from a standard UK 3 pin socket. It runs at the most the socket can safely supply, and the control box lets you turn the current down for a slower, gentler charge overnight or on an older circuit.

  • 16amp

    A 16amp cable will be able to charge at 3.7kW. This is the cheapest product if your car's max charge speed is 3.7kW. If you have two electric cars or are looking to purchase another it might be worth considering a faster charging cable as this could limit charge speeds moving forward.

  • 32amp

    A 32amp charging cable will be able to charge at 7.4kW, which is the most a single phase UK home supply can deliver. A 32amp cable also charges at every lower speed (for example 16amp, 3.7kW), so it is the right choice if your home charge point is 7.4kW or you mostly charge at home.

  • 32amp (3 Phase)

    A 32amp 3-phase charging cable will be able to charge at all speeds up to 22kW, so the cable never limits your charge speed at home or in public. It is also capable of charging at all lower charge speeds.
