Our 8m EV charging cable is a Type 2 to Type 2 lead in 32A three phase form. It is the only 8m cable we make, and it is worth being clear about what that means before you order, because 8 metres is a length people search for deliberately and the specification behind it is not the obvious one.
Plugged into a British house it delivers 7.4 kW, exactly the same as any 32A single phase cable, because a domestic supply carries one phase and 7.4 kW is its ceiling. The three phase construction only matters where three genuine phases arrive, at a workplace or a 22 kW public AC post, and only if your car can accept more than 7.4 kW. So this is not a faster cable at home. It is an 8 metre cable that also happens to work on a three phase supply.
Eight metres suits the gap that 5m cannot cover and 10m overshoots. A 5m lead runs out when the charge point sits at the far end of a driveway, across a shared bay, or on the opposite side of the car to the flap. At 8m you gain three metres of reach for very little extra bulk, which is why the length gets searched for by name rather than stumbled upon.
Being straight about the alternative: if you do not specifically need 8 metres, our 10m EV charging cable is longer and costs less, because it is a single phase lead. Buy the 8m when the length is the point, or when you want a cable that can also draw three phase power somewhere that offers it. Buy the 10m when you simply want more reach for less money.
Whichever you choose, the build is the same. Every cable is made to IEC 62196 Type 2, holds CE certification, works from -30C to +50C and is sealed to IP55. There is a 2 year manufacturer's warranty on all of them and UK delivery is free on the next working day.

Longer cables are heavier and take more effort to coil, so take the shortest length that comfortably reaches rather than the longest you can afford.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our cables. Every cable comes with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty, and the jacket will survive being driven over, though we would rather you did not make a habit of it.
Protection against pressure
Our cables are safe to use whatever the weather. Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated, CE marked, and work from -30°C to +50°C. Type 2 to 3 pin cables are IP67 rated, CE marked and work from -30°C to +60°C.

Compatible with all Type 2 cars
Yes. Our 8m EV charging cable is a Type 2 to Type 2 lead rated at 32A three phase. It is a single specification rather than a range, so there is no 16A or Type 1 version of the 8m length.
For most driveways, yes. Eight metres reaches a wallbox at the far end of a normal drive, or one mounted on the opposite side of the car to the charging flap. Measure from the socket on the wall to where the flap actually sits when the car is parked as you leave it, then add a metre so the cable is not pulled taut.
That is simply the specification we build the 8m length in. On a home supply it makes no difference at all, since one phase delivers 7.4 kW and that is what the cable passes. The three phase capability is only usable where three phases exist, such as a workplace or a 22 kW public AC post, and only by a car whose onboard charger can exceed 7.4 kW.
Take the 10m if you want the extra reach and nothing else, because it is longer and less expensive. Take the 8m if you have measured and 8 metres is the length you want, or if you also charge somewhere with a genuine three phase supply and a car that can use it.
About 25 to 40 miles an hour on a home wallbox, depending on the car. The cable is not the limit here: at 7.4 kW an efficient hatchback recovers close to 40 miles an hour while a large SUV manages nearer 25. Cable length has no effect whatsoever on charging speed.
Coil it loosely rather than winding it tight around your arm, which stresses the cable where it meets each connector, and keep it in a bag so grit stays out of the pins. Our storage bags take up to a 15m cable, so an 8m lead fits with room to spare.

A charging cable that connects electric vehicles (EVs) with a Type 2 connector to charging points is also equipped with a Type 2 socket. It supports faster charging speeds and is commonly used across Europe for EVs with this standard connection.
This cable allows electric vehicles with a Type 2 socket to charge from a standard UK 3-pin domestic outlet. It provides a slower charge but is useful for home or emergency charging when dedicated charging stations aren't available.

A 5M charging cable is the shortest length that we offer. It is a great option if you can park close to the charge point and do not need much length to reach your car.
A 10M charging cable is the most popular length. It allows you to have enough flexibility whilst still being easy enough to move. This is a great option if you cannot park close to the electricity supply.
A 15M charging cable is a great choice if you need some extra flexibility, i.e. get past another car or reach the other end of a driveway. The length of the cable does not affect the charging speed.
A 20M charging cable is the longest cable that we currently offer. 20M reaches the vast majority of locations where you would want to charge your car. Always use one continuous cable. Never join two charging cables together and never charge through an extension lead, because the join is where heat builds up.
The choice if you will charge from a standard UK 3 pin socket. It runs at the most the socket can safely supply, and the control box lets you turn the current down for a slower, gentler charge overnight or on an older circuit.
A 16amp cable will be able to charge at 3.7kW. This is the cheapest product if your car's max charge speed is 3.7kW. If you have two electric cars or are looking to purchase another it might be worth considering a faster charging cable as this could limit charge speeds moving forward.
A 32amp charging cable will be able to charge at 7.4kW, which is the most a single phase UK home supply can deliver. A 32amp cable also charges at every lower speed (for example 16amp, 3.7kW), so it is the right choice if your home charge point is 7.4kW or you mostly charge at home.
A 32amp 3-phase charging cable will be able to charge at all speeds up to 22kW, so the cable never limits your charge speed at home or in public. It is also capable of charging at all lower charge speeds.
