How long does it take to charge an electric car?

Divide the battery size in kWh by the charging power in kW. A 60kWh battery takes about 8 hours from empty on a 7.4kW home charge point, and much longer on a 3 pin plug. Most drivers top up overnight rather than charging from empty, so real charging times are usually shorter.
