Tesla Model Y Charging Cable
The Tesla Model Y will be a new addition to the Tesla Range being a crossover utility vehicle (CUV) . There are currently four planned powertrains for the Model Y which are Standard Range, Long Range, Long Range with Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive, and Performance.  All models are planned to be available by late 2020, apart from the Standard Range model, which is planned to enter production in early 2021. The Model Y fills a smaller size segment from its bigger sibling, the tier-2 premium market Tesla X.

What happens if a Tesla Model Y runs out of charge?
If a Tesla Model Y runs out of charge, it will come to a stop and will not be able to be driven until it is charged again. The driver will need to find a charging station or use a portable charging device to charge the vehicle. It is important for Tesla drivers to plan their trips and ensure that they have enough charge to reach their destination or a charging station along the way.
How long does it take to charge a Tesla Model Y at home?
The time it takes to charge a Tesla Model Y at home depends on the type of charging equipment being used. The Model Y comes with a standard Tesla Mobile Charger that can be plugged into a standard 3 pin socket. Using this charger, it will take approximately 32 hours to fully charge the Model Y.
However, most Tesla owners opt to install a Tesla Wall Charger, which is a 32-amp charging station specifically designed for charging electric vehicles. Using a Tesla Wall Charger, it will take approximately 8-10 hours to fully charge the Model Y.
It is also possible to use a Tesla Supercharger, which is a high-speed charging station that is exclusive to Tesla vehicles. At a Supercharger, the Model Y can be fully charged in as little as 1-2 hours.
