On it a Standard Range Inster goes from empty to full in about 6 hours and a Long Range in about 7. The 32A three-phase cable is money well spent only where three-phase power genuinely exists behind the socket, meaning a workplace or a 22 kW public post rather than a driveway.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis is where the Inster parts company with bigger EVs. A 16A cable holds the car at 3.7 kW, which is 12 hours from empty on the 42.0 kWh battery and 14 hours on the 49.0 kWh. Both of those still finish inside one night on the plug, which is simply not true of a 77 kWh Ioniq 5. On an Inster the 16A cable is a genuine option rather than a false economy.
