Product Description

How long does it take to charge a Mazda MX-30?

The charging time for a Mazda MX-30 electric vehicle (EV) depends on several factors, including the vehicle’s battery capacity, the charging station’s power output, and the type of charging cable being used.

The MX-30 has a 35.5 kWh battery capacity, which is enough to give it a range of up to around 124 miles (200 km). To fully charge the battery from empty, you will need a charging station with a power output of at least 7.2 kW. With a 7.2 kW charging station, it will take approximately 7 hours to charge the MX-30’s battery from empty to full.

If you are using a charging station with a higher power output, such as a 22 kW DC fast charger, the charging time will be shorter. For example, a 22 kW fast charger will charge the MX-30’s battery to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. However, fast charging will also reduce the overall lifespan of the battery, as it puts more strain on the cells.

Can I charge the Mazda MX-30 using a 3-pin plug?

Yes, you can charge a Mazda MX-30 electric vehicle (EV) using a standard three-pin household outlet. However, charging the MX-30 from a three-pin outlet will take much longer than using a dedicated EV charging station.

The MX-30 comes with a Type 2 AC charging cable, which has a Type 2 plug on one end and a standard household outlet plug on the other end. You can use this cable to charge the MX-30 from a three-pin outlet by plugging the cable into the outlet and connecting it to the MX-30’s charging port.

The charging time will depend on the outlet’s power output, which is typically around 2.3 kW for a standard three-pin outlet. With a 2.3 kW outlet, it will take approximately 20 hours to charge the MX-30’s battery from empty to full.
